Our Story

High School Sweethearts, Lifelong Dream

Kevin and Julia met in high school, long before either of them had any idea where life would take them — and even longer before “Olivewood” was a name anyone knew. What they did know, even back then, was that they wanted to build something of their own someday. Not just a business, but a life’s work made up of things that felt like pieces of their hearts.

It took years of dedication to get there. Julia worked to help retire Kevin from corporate America, and together they set out to build their dream from the ground up — with their four children, Madalyn, Natalie, Naomi, and Luke, right there beside them every step of the way.

They started from scratch in the suburbs of Arizona, and it was not an easy road. There were HOA rules to navigate and fight through, and a steady 9-to-5 paycheck to trade for the around-the-clock, all-hands-on-deck reality of running a business from home. Entrepreneurship wasn’t handed to Kevin and Julia — it was something they had to fight for, and fight hard.

Even the name “Olivewood” carries that story. It came together from a handful of moving pieces: the legal battle Kevin and Julia won to legitimize their home-based business in their own neighborhood, the olive branch as a symbol of peace throughout the Bible, and of course, their own last name — Wood. Piece by piece, it all just seemed to click.

Over the last fifteen years, Kevin and Julia have used that hard-won dream to bless more people than they ever imagined — from vintage markets to specially curated at-home craft events, through every home they’ve lived in across Arizona, California, and Colorado, and through every stage of life along the way. Somewhere in all of it, the people who kept showing up earned a name of their own: the Olivewood tribe. Loyal followers, friends, and chosen family who continue, to this day, to bless the Wood family right back.
